It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family would like to announce the passing of their adored Anthony Charles Fernihough on Monday 5th October 2026.

Beloved husband to Karen; father to Charlotte and James; Uncle to Andrew, Jeremy and Karen; son-in-law to Jenny; cousin to Barbara, Amanda and Brian and a dear friend to many. He will be dreadfully missed by all who were fortunate to know him – he was a true gentlemen who was kind, patient, loving and who had a fun-loving sense of humour. We were all so lucky to have had him in our lives and will cherish the precious memories and a lifetime of love that will remain in our hearts forever. May Anthony be at Peace.

When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart and you shall see that in
truth you are weeping for that which has been a delight. Khalil Gibran

The funeral service will take place at St Matthew’s Church, Overseal on Monday 2nd November at 2:00pm. Following the Service, the family would like to warmly welcome everyone to the Wake to share memories and celebrate Anthony’s life at the Colville Arms, Lullington.

We kindly ask for family flowers only. Donations, if desired, would be greatly received by the LOROS Charity whose team were so caring in the support in which they provided to Anthony and his family throughout his illness; and the MND charity who continue to battle against this cruel disease. Donations can be made on the day of the funeral, or by using the link attached. Thank you.

Life can be cruel, but memories survive - in my case childhood memories of visits to Overseal and Green Lane many years ago.
