Funeral Director
In loving memory of Michael Warner who sadly passed away on 26th September 2026 will be greatly missed.
Michael Douglas Warner 1.09.1939 to 26.09.2026. Born in Tynemouth (of late, living in Kent) Michael’s career began in local newspapers, moving on to nationals first in Manchester then Fleet Street in the era of smoke-filled newsrooms and the relentless roar of the presses. A veteran journalist who spent a lifetime editing articles to tight deadlines. It seems fitting that his final full stop is detailed in the written word.
As an avid light aircraft pilot, he clocked many happy hours in the air, though his favourite flight paths invariably led to airport cafes in the lifelong search of the perfect cup of coffee
He is survived by Nora his wife of 64 years, a loving family, a belief in the value of the right words, and an uncorrected typo or two that he would have absolutely hated.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:30am on Thursday October 22 at Faversham and mid-Kent Crematorium, followed by a malt whisky or two at a local pub. No corrections accepted.
Donations to RAF Benevolent fund https://www.rafbf.org/donate gratefully accepted.
