We would like you to join us in celebrating the life of Val Hawksfield who sadly passed away on the 22nd September 2026 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Val was one of the most genuine and kind people and lived life to to the full. She always had time for everyone and had countless stories of the fun she got up to. The overwhelming support through her battle and the reaction to her passing truly showed how special she was to so many people.

A service will be held at St Lawrence Church in Bidborough at 10am on the 23rd October. Due to limited church capacity, seating will be allocated by invitation. However, the service will be streamed online and a showing of this will be held in Bidborough School hall next to the church. There will also be the opportunity to say a final goodbye as she leaves the church.

After the service, please join us for refreshments at Old Farm, Lamberhurst Quarter, TN3 8AS.

The dress code is smart casual and pops of colour are more than welcome.

We kindly ask for no flowers as Val had asked for donations to be made to the Hospice in the Weald instead. This can be done through the link on this page. There is also a section if you wish to upload a message, story or favourite memory or even a favourite image.

For planning purposes, please RSVP to 07712570332 or bhawksfield@gmail.com.

Val was one of my favourite people in the whole world. I met Val through flying and we became firm friends. I always enjoyed her company. Even while she was going through her treatment we always found something to laugh about. I will miss her so so much. My heart goes out to her wonderful family.
Val wanted us to do a Xmas Fair together. So on 14th November at East Grinstead Sports Centre I am doing one in Vals name. ALL the proceeds will go to pancreatic cancer. So if you live nearby please pop in and support the charity. Let's do this for Val. X

Camping on the farm are some of my favourite memories from childhood: the apple cricket, the unlimited crisps, the pen knives, the many accidents the dads hid from the mums...! Bidborough and Woodland Way will always have a special place in my heart and Val - her hospitality. wonderful baked goods and stories from all her travels - was so central to that. Really sorry I can't be at the funeral in person but will be thinking of all Val's family and Bidborough friends ❤️

In memory of my lovely Aunt who always made everyone feel so loved and welcomed. She lived such an amazing life and had some of the best stories, one of my favourites being flying around the world on Concorde. She was so inspiring with how she lived her life and is really missed. I’m very lucky to have had you in my life. You’ll never be forgotten. Love you lots xxx
