I was so sorry to hear this news. Gillen was a wonderful colleague and a real support to work with. I miss his humour and his no-nonsense approach. He had a way of bringing out the best in those of us who were lucky enough to work with him.

I’m so sad to hear of Gillen’s passing. Last September he joined us building boats in our community project. He was great to work with, and he was eager to share his boat building skills with everyone. Alan and team.

This photo was taken in June 2025 when Gillen came to a ceremony I held to mark the end of my career. It was so wonderful to see Gillen after many years and I’m glad we were able to share with each other how thankful we both were for each other’s support.
