Pamela Blanche Cave (27 Aug 1929 - 7 Aug 2026)

In loving memory of Pamela Blanche Cave (nee Skinner) who peacefully passed away on 7th August 2026. Much loved wife of the late Lewis, mother of Elizabeth and mother-in-law of Michael and sister of Glenis.

Following her childhood in Yalding, Kent, she completed her teacher training at Goldsmiths College in London and met her husband-to-be Lewis who was studying nearby at Kings college.

Approaching 70 years of happy marriage took her from Wembley, then to Sidcup, where Elizabeth was born, and East Malling before moving to Ponteland in the northeast in the late 60's which was home for over 30 years.

Age was no barrier to new challenges and in their seventies Pam and Lewis moved to the south coast and set up home in Seaford before moving to be near Liz and Mike in Upper Saxondale, Nottingham.

Pamela leaves us with a lesson in growing old with positivity even when the body doesn't do what it once could.

She was very happy in her residential care home which she moved into following Lewis’s passing three years ago, and was immensely proud of her room and garden patio which she referred to as 'home'. She was content in her own company and loved her books, crosswords and occasional game of Boules with other residents.

Although she narrowly missed out on celebrating her 97th birthday, she rejoined Lewis on what would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary - to the very hour they'd have been leaving Yalding church in 1954. Maybe that's how it was meant to be.
