Mavis Allen (9 Mar 1939 - 24 Jul 2026)

The whole LNAA team send our deepest sympathies to Mavis' family and friends. We cannot imagine what you are going through at this time, but we hope that the treasured moments you shared together bring some comfort today and in the days ahead. A candle has been lit in Mavis' memory, as a symbol of support and remembrance from all of us at the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

Nanna Mavis was small in stature, but impossible to overlook. She had a personality and warmth that stayed with you, and I feel incredibly lucky to have known her for so many years.

From the very beginning, she welcomed me as a member of the family, something I will always be grateful for - as I will for the endless offers of food that made leaving her house without eating almost impossible!

But what I will treasure most is the love she gave so freely to my wife, my boys and our family. Watching that love, and being fortunate enough to share in it for so many years, is something I will always hold close.

Rest peacefully, Nanna Mavis. You were so very special, and I’m so grateful you were part of our lives. All my love, always. xx

Thank you for my Paw Patrol magazine, the big Giraffe in Cooper’s room and the big chair in your bedroom was so much fun.

My lovely little Nanna.

So, so many fond memories that I’ll cherish forever. Sitting on your silver tray to slide down the hill in your garden at Christmas when it snowed, always having Melba toast and pâté in the fridge, with cashew nuts and little bite-sized cheeses because you knew they were my favourites, and watching you walk down the road shouting “bye, love ya” until you couldn’t see the car anymore.

Imperial Leather will always be the best soap because of you; because “it makes a proper lather!”

You were always so generous, and you kept writing birthday and Christmas cards for as long as you could. Family always meant so much to you, and you always had everyone’s best interests at heart.

Thank you for everything you did for me and James growing up, and for all the little things that made being your grandchildren so special.

So many memories I’ll carry with me forever.

I’ll miss you, Nanna. “Love ya” forever. ❤️

Very sorry about Mavis knew her well and Brian often chatted on Lichfield Lane on her walks plus on the bus to Nottm with Maureen Rice .

My wonderful Nanna, thank you for everything you did for me and katy growing up. You had a heart of gold and would make everyone feel welcome and always back us. You didn't half make us laugh and you laughed at yourself as well :) You had so much fight and did what you felt was in the best interests of your family. You were quite an amazing Woman/Nanna to me and you will be sadly missed. May you R.I.P. My Nanna. Love James xxx

Mum was a 'one-of-a-kind' lady and will leave a huge hole in my life.

She was always very sociable and game for any adventure throughout her life and was hard to keep up with at times!

A big personality,she greatly enjoyed being involved in local politics and was constantly on a mission to change her environment no matter who tried to get in her way.

She was thrilled to be a mum,nanna and great-nanna and loved har family to bits.

A tiny lady with the biggest heart.

I will always love and miss you.
