In loving memory of Igor Horvath who sadly passed away on 16th July 2026

As sure as the sun the sun will rise you can rely on Igor’s kindness and gentle manor. A person who has defined what it means to be a true gentleman. I had the pleasure to know him a little. Igor welcomed me to the robotics team and patiently helped me to understand many of the complicated processes at Bosch. He helped me on many occasions with his wizard-like excel skills and his calmness and assurance always helped to resolve any situation. He always made time to be friendly and approachable. Because of our love for whiskey and having daughters near the same age we bonded easily, and I will always remember how proudly he talked of his daughter Lottie and the adventures they had together. I will always remember him as the ‘coolest man in electronics’ a title he easily earned owing to his calmness and very cool moped. Perhaps if we were all a little more Igor then the world could be a better place for it. I will miss you my friend….

We were both so sorry to hear that Igor had died. Igor, Lili and Lotti lived next door to us when they first moved to Stowmarket and it was a privilege to live next door to them. They were lovely neighbours. We have shared many conversations with Igor over the fence and have shared with him and his family many happy occasions. Igor thought the world of Lili and Lotti.
Unfortunately we are unable to attend the funeral but we will be thinking of everyone.
With Love from Lois and Dave Muller

It is hard to find the words when we have to say goodbye to a friend and colleague.

We both started our journey from Miskolc, and ended up working alongside each other in the Purchasing team in Stowmarket. This was where we truly got to know one another and became close. The memories of our backyard barbecues, casual chats, and friendly drinks will forever cherish the time we spent together.

I held Igor in the highest regard, both professionally and personally. He was an incredibly kind-hearted, quiet, and introverted soul—but once he let you in, you found a loyal friend.

I say goodbye with a heavy heart. Rest in peace! Thank you for everything.

Igor was a friend and a colleague who loved life and has been taken form this world far too soon.
I still fondly remember Igor’s first day in Stowmarket, and we hit it off immediately, as the years progressed, we became close friends.
At work, Igor was a professional in his field, be that Purchasing, or later Logistics, he became the go to person due to his expertise and willingness to help. He also loved a coffee and a chat!
Out of work, family was everything to Igor, he loved nothing more than picking up Lotti from school and heading to Costa where they would debrief on each others’ days, spending days boating on the Norfolk Broads, or more recently Igor’s new found love of fishing.
Igor was not one for big work parties, however get him on his own, or in a small group in a pub, and he was a pleasure to be with, he enjoyed a Guinness and this was often coupled with a whiskey (nothing less than single malt, and strictly no ice!)
I will miss my weekly catch ups, coffees, beers and general “no bull shit” conversations that I enjoyed immensely!
Cheers Mate 😊

My sincere condolences to Igors family.

During my time at Bosch I had the pleasure to work with Igor.
Reading some of the comments before mine brings a smile to me as they all ring true. He was calm, patient, humorous when needed to bring lightness when things go difficult. Reliable and supportive a good person and clever colleague to have in your corner.

I had some enjoyable work trips to Hungary with Igor as well seeing both his business side and social side.

I only knew Igor for a short period of time - nonetheless he left a mark within my life. Gentle, open, curious - he made it easy for me to join the team. Hard to understand and accept that all his plans for the future will not include him anymore. I will keep him in my memories, being sure that he will be missed by tons of people, and that he is somehow still around - smiling and reminding me to use the time on the truly important things...

Igor I knew immediately with my first impression, without meeting or speaking to each other, was the nicest gentleman, as he always acknowledged me with a hello or his smile, when seeing each other around the office.
Then he joined our team, and my first impression was not wrong at all, and I’d argue he’s one of the nicest, kindest and understanding gentleman I’ve ever met.

What I loved about Igor he was the same man in and out of work. In work he would be there to help if you had any queries, and I remember out of work I asked him about things to do and see in Budapest, as my friends were visiting for a long weekend, and he came back to me with so much help and useful information, and it was no trouble at all.

This leads me to say he was one of most patriotic people I’ve known, and his knowledge of both the history and current affairs were second to none. With this patriotism, came his passion for sports that Hungary took part in, especially football, and that’s how we hit if off………I’m going to miss talking to him about the Euros and World Cup qualifiers, and Hungarian players in the Premier League and playing for football ☹

I’m also going to miss our Wednesday games of darts and pool, both of which he initially was not keen on playing and very good at, but one of his qualities was his perseverance, and he definitely improved. Golf he never played before, and again was understandably not very good at it, but he still gave it a go with a lot of enthusiasm, and again another quality he has was that he would still have fun, and laugh at himself, showing humility.
Table tennis though is where Igor thrived with confidence, and he was very good at it, but he always took the time out to explain the rules, and be complimentary when we played good shots. He took his enthusiasm and confidence to another level when trying to play one shot, and I still can’t recall if it was a good shot or not, as I was too busy laughing when he crashed into the boardings near the table!!!!

His love for his family, especially Lili and Lotti, was unquestionable. He would always talk about them…his trips to the Norfolk Broads, tank driving experience, fishing trips, and weekly visits to Costa Coffee after picking up Lotti from school on his beloved motorbike.

Igor was truly a wonderful man, one I have had the pleasure of knowing, and one I will miss.

Igor was a true gent. I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him for long but, in that short time, I sensed he was a kind and gentle soul who had a lot of love for his family. My favourite memory with Igor was, of course, at the table tennis table. Things got a bit competitive and Igor fell over, taking half the furniture with him (luckily without injury). He was a patient teacher when it came to helping Mark, Dom & I improve our skills. It will not be the same without him, but we will remember him as the legend of the table and continue to play in his honour.
Rest in peace, Igor. You will be missed.

Igor was not only a colleague but a true friend. Nothing was ever too much trouble, he was patient, kind and understanding.
Igor would always ask me how I was and he genuinely cared and took time to listen, we used to have some lovely conversations about life, hopes and dreams and how deeply he loved Lili and Lotti and his family meant everything to him.
We had some great times as a team – Golf outings, Escape rooms, Christmas meals and of course the Wednesday lunchtime pool and table tennis where Igor turned out to be a dark horse and generally whooped us at everything, he fitted so well into our tight-knit team.
A gentle giant with the kindest soul, one of the nicest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing, you will be truly missed Igor.

Sometimes you get to work with amazing people that you can consider good friends. For us, this was Igor. A calm, softly spoken, and respectful man who always found the good in people, he was generous with his kindness and support—a true gentleman.

At work, he had the patience of a saint, helping others with complicated systems or making our lives easier with one of his super spreadsheets. Although, the help only started when he could see what he was doing; Igor carried two sets of glasses and always seemed to put the wrong ones on! When things got tough, Igor knew the right thing to do, usually with a quick-witted one-liner joke followed by his infectious, cheeky grin.

We had the pleasure of spending time away from work with Igor. We discovered he couldn’t hit a golf ball and sometimes potted the wrong pool ball, but he could perform magic with a table tennis ball. Thanks to his teachings, some of us even managed to return the famous Igor ping-pong serve. Whether it was an escape room or bowling, Igor was always super enthusiastic. During one of our meals together, Igor tried to give us some advice. He claimed that whiskey or Palinka is the cure to 99% of medical conditions. It’s a good job that Igor worked in purchasing and logistics and not as a doctor!

When Igor was not beating us at table tennis, he was talking about his passions—mostly involving Lili and Lotti. He made no secret of his love for both. We enjoyed stories of fishing, politics, Hungarian history, the pub he owned, motorbike 1 setting on fire, motorbike 2 not fitting his fat arse (his words), and finally, his pride and joy, motorbike 3. Motorbike 3 did attract a lot of rain, but it didn’t matter how wet he got. If Lotti was on the back and there was coffee, a cigarette, and Lili at the end of the ride, Igor was the happiest man in the world.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, said what a wonderful man Igor was. He would do anything to help, and his kindness was legendary. We already miss his friendship so much. We pray that Igor has found eternal peace, and we hope that one day we will get to share it with him.
