In loving memory of Glynne Matthews who sadly passed away on 10th July 2026.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

We loved and laughed right up to the end, we were so lucky.
You slipped so gently away whilst in our arms, it was so sad but so perfectly beautiful at the same time.
We are left with such wonderful memories and those will stay with us forever.

Thank you to everyone who helped Glynne through his difficult last few days and supporting us through this very hard time, made easier in the knowledge that you are all supporting us with your love.

Jill and family.

I've had a few bosses in my career. Glynne was the best of them. Kind, generous, funny, yet with an unswerving commitment to perfection in Funeral Service that the profession demands.
He embodied the gold standard of the Funeral Profession with his dignity, grace, attention to detail, and above all with his reassuring presence on the day and that unforgetable smile.
On a more personal note, I'll never forget the day of my initiation onto Freemasonry. Glynne took an entire day out to accompany me to London, to guide me through the proceedings and to ensure in his inimitable way that my experience of the occasion was the best that it could be.
For all that he was, and for all that he represented, thank God For Glynne Matthews.
Bless you, Boss, and thank you.

Amongst earlier memories,
One of the most vivid is Uncle at Christmas walking up the driveway to Bradgate Manor dressed as Father Christmas, but we all knew it was him because of his bitten fingernails !
but so much fun, him playing Grandad’s ‘s Eminant 2000 organ and singing ‘Great balls of fire’ and going to horse shows with him Dad and Adrian
These memories will stay with me forever

  • They were such great times weren't they Lou,,,we were all so privileged. Horses, motorbikes and those fields and woods and "over the track" to mess around in. We certainly were blessed as kids.
