Averil Sanderson (22 Apr 1934 - 29 Jun 2026)

Averil Sanderson of Rattlesden died in Woodfield Court Care Home, Stowmarket on 29th June 2026, aged 92 years. Widow of Gordon, better known as Sandy for 27 years, and her later partner Robert Grandfield, better known as Bob. Mum to Heather and mother-in-law to Neil, grandma to James, Alexander and Mark, great grandma to Maddison and Henry. Many of you may remember Averil as your English Teacher at Stowmarket High School. Funeral service at West Suffolk Crematorium, St Edmunds Chapel, Risby, Bury St Edmunds, IP28 6RR on Monday 3rd August 2026 at 11.00 am followed by a celebration get together of Averil's life at Pettiward Hall, High Road, Great Finborough, Stowmarket, IP14 3AE. Please wear what you are comfortable in, as it is a celebration of Averil's life.
