In Loving Memory of Dennis Sullivan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Sullivan on 26 June 2026.

Dennis shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Helen. He was a devoted father to Bryan and Karen, and a much-loved grandfather to Daniel and Amy, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Dennis embraced life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed a rewarding career as a Police Officer before making the most of his retirement with countless cruises and holidays, travelling the world alongside those he loved.

A passionate sportsman and sports fan, Dennis loved both playing and watching sport. He was also a true social butterfly, blessed with many lifelong friends who will remember his warmth, loyalty, and wonderful company.

Known for being dependable, caring, and always ready with a wicked sense of humour, Dennis had a remarkable ability to make people smile. Even throughout his final months, he showed incredible courage and dignity. He never complained and continued to make others laugh until the very end.

Dennis’s greatest achievement and proudest legacy was his loving family, who adored him and will miss him beyond words.

Today, we celebrate a life well lived, a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.

Rest in peace now, Dennis—you were truly a legend.

Dennis was to me my second Dad. He had the biggest heart and was a loyal and steadfast friend, not only to me but to many.
We were in contact virtually every day; not only because he enjoyed doing his horses and I would place his bets and run his ‘betting kitty’ in recent years since the passing of my mum (who shared the same birthday) but we would discuss the state of football, my beloved Bees who he thought were a breath of fresh air and his Spurs who he thought had lost their way! When I was without my car for a few weeks he would ask if I could get home (from the golf club) and come over to give me a lift home.
Thank you Dennis for being you. Such a kind and loyal friend who I miss so much. Thank you for your kindness and friendship. Rest In Peace- Anne xxx

Dennis, from the first time we spoke, you became special to me and my family. We bonded over your loving concern for my daughter Claire and her journey at the Marsden. Sarah, Claire and myself loved a catch up with you. We will miss seeing your face light up at the cakes and how happy you always was to take some home to share with Helen. RIP you lovely man xxx

You looked after me on the prisoner van at Belgravia in 98/99 and taught me what type of police officer I should aspire to become. Thank you Dennis. RIP my friend. XXX

Dennis was a sweet, kind, funny man and it was a privilege to have been in his orbit even for just a short time. My thoughts are with his family and I hope they can take comfort from all the affection, respect and high regard he was held in by friends and colleagues. There will never be another true gentleman like Dennis, the world is a little sader, he was a one off..god bless
