A shame to hear of Dave's passing. he was a good friend and his Mum and Dad were very nice people. Dave was always an artist. Painting model Drag racing cars and drawing cartoon and he even painted flames on my first car an 1937 Ford Y model. ( My dad made me paint over the flames as he said it would attract attention from the police!) His Dad had a relative in Preston and when I moved up to Lancashire he arranged for me to meet the Bell Family. They were very kind to me and gave me evening meals when I was at college.
We all had an interest in Motorcycles and Dave had a Mighty Itom 50cc very loud bike. I had a Bown autocycle and Dave Thom had a 350 AJS so we were all into bikes and mechanical things. I also remember Dave acquiring a New Imperial but I don't remember him ever getting it to run. Such lovely times from our youth, will always be remembered as part of our growing up.
I hope all his family appreciate my words and I send my condolences and best wishes to you all.
