In memory of the loss, far too soon, of a very dear friend. Sandra was quirky, always smiling & positive and it’s hard to believe she’s no longer here. However we celebrated her life today & we will continue talking about her to Phil & the family. Gone but not forgotten. Much love Sue & Richard xx

Sandra had the rare quality of being able to light up any room that she was in.
Her positive energy, her ‘joie de vivre’, were just so in abundance, and it was a joy to be in her presence. Sandra was a kind soul, a good and loyal friend. She was intelligent, kind, resilient and the type of person that we all wish we could be.
We feel privileged to have known, loved and laughed with Sandra over the last 30 years. We’re devastated that she has left us, because the world was a better place with her in it.
We know that Phil and family have lost a wonderful person, we all have, but we feel so very blessed to have known Sandra.
We will miss her so much, and we will mourn her passing, but importantly we will also celebrate her life and what she brought to us all.
Jim and Emma
xx

We have known each other a lifetime - with gaps. Via the Navy our families lived and played together together in Malta and the UK, but when we emigrated to Canada it rather put a damper on our get-togethers! So to receive an email from Sandra & Phil last summer, saying they were coming to British Columbia and could we meet, meant the world. The day was magical ... we never stopped talking ... and it's a time I shall treasure always. Sandra was, and still is, a special person. Her passing will leave huge holes in the hearts of all those she touched.

Our thoughts and Love to Phil and all the family
Jennifer & Glen xx

When people think of grandmas, they might think of someone who sits quietly knitting or watching television. But that wasn’t my grandma. She was full of life, full of laughter, and always ready for her next crazy adventure. She had a spark about her that made everyone around her smile. She brought joy wherever she went, and she had an amazing ability to make even the ordinary moments feel special.

Grandma taught me that life is meant to be lived, not just watched from the sidelines. Whether it was trying something new, going somewhere unexpected, or simply laughing till our stomachs hurt, she embraced every moment with excitement and enthusiasm. One of the things I will always admire about grandma was her happiness. No matter what challenges life brought, she chose joy. She had a beautiful smile, a kind heart, and a wonderful sense of humour that could brighten anyone’s day. She made people feel loved, welcomed, and she touched the lives of so many.

As her granddaughter, I feel incredibly lucky to have had her in my life. She wasn’t just my grandma she was my friend, my role model and one of the most inspiring people I have ever known. She taught me to laugh loudly, to be brave, to treasure the people around me, and to never say no to an adventure.

Although saying goodbye is heartbreaking, I know that grandma would want us to remember her with smiles rather than tears. She would want us to tell stories, laugh together, and celebrate the incredible life she lived.

Grandma, thank you for all the love, the laughter, and the memories that I will carry with me forever. You may no longer be with us, but your spirit will always live on in the stories we tell and the love you gave so freely.

I love you grandma, and I always will.

Tribute to Sandra

Our dear friend Sandra passed away last week, leaving both of us with deep sadness.

We first met Sandra and Phil when they moved to Faversham forty-seven years ago — the kind of couple anyone would be lucky to have as friends.
Our friendship flourished when Sandra and I (Jan) began attending National Childbirth trust meetings in Pluckley. Sandra was pregnant with Samantha, and I was pregnant with Julia.

There was laughter, shared excitement, and the blessing of beautiful daughters — Sam and Julia — memories we’ve cherished ever since. When Sam was little, our Julia and Sam played together often. It was a real sadness when they moved away, but whenever we met up, it was always memorable.
How would you describe Sandra?
A special person, a good friend, kind, fun, determined, talented, and so easy to be with. Sandra had a wonderful way of telling stories — about their adventures and holidays — that made you wish you were right there with them.
When we met them for what we now know would be the last time, in July 2024, we were following her stories about their latest adventures, including flying a drone for high-level scenes. Her smile was the biggest when she spoke of her family — so proud and full of love.
God bless you, Sandra. You leave a big hole in so many lives, and in ours too.

Jan & Ken xx
