Beautiful photos.
My Dad; James Butler was Pat’s first cousin and I was the baby bridesmaid at their wedding.
I have very fond memories of Uncle John, he was a great storyteller and a staunch union supporter.
Patsy and John plus the family you will have many great memories

It’s a sad day when you find out someone like John has passed away. We always talked about the dock industry and about the days when the unions could go on strike for the rights of the dockworkers he was very continuous. And I mean that in a good way especially when he was dealing with people about the rights of others. I remember having him quite a few times at our Christmas parties and taking him home because he was worse for wear slightly inebriated and then the next day you phoned me quite a few times after these episodes asking me did I have a stick because he left the stick behind so I had to run round and give him back his walking stick? Yes it’s a shame but you’ve got to remember what he fulfilled while he was about and he did a lot and he always told me when I was talking to him continue fighting mate make sure that you carry on thank you for those words of guidance John and rest in peace my old friend
