Neil was my token collector customer and then buddy for many years, always a gentleman and always impeccably polite; always knowledgeable and happy to share his expertise. I was thrilled when he moved to Devon and I was able to meet with him in Teignmouth. He had quickly joined the local museum and history groups and in next to no time had become an expert on Teignmouths experiences in World War 2, which clearly had made a big impression on his early life. Ever keen for a chat and a pub lunch and pint, I recall him telling me that his Mum described him as a fussy eater until he was sent off to Boarding School, after which he would eat anything and as much of it as he could get! Neil's great passion for sailing was another topic that lit him up and so too his pride in Catriona and Neil and his extended family. I shall miss him greatly.

On behalf of myself and all the members of St. Peter's Masonic Lodge No 7406 in Chertsey, we send our condolences. Neil was a valuable member for many years, served in several offices, Treasurer of course and included Master. He will be sorely missed and well remembered.

To Catriona, Neil and all the family, we were so sorry to hear the sad news of Neil.
He was a good friend, fellow sailor and much respected member of QMSC who gladly gave his time, over the years as Club Treasurer.
We continue to regularly sail and race in his last flying fifteen, “Fugitive” and will always remember his chuckle!
Fondly remembered
Charles and Jackie
