Jean Rose Cooper (21 Jan 1936 - 21 Jan 2026)

In loving memory of Jean Rose Cooper, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend, who sadly passed away on 21st January 2026.

Jean's funeral service will be held at Wilford Hill Crematorium in the Main Chapel on Monday 23rd February 2026 at 11am.

Donations in lieu of flowers are welcome and will benefit Dementia UK.

Jean Rose Cooper was born in Nottingham on 21st January 1936 to parents Jane & Robert Raynor. She had an older sister Margaret and younger brother Robert.

In August 1958 Jean married Leslie Barrie Cooper whilst he was carrying out his National Service and Jean was a Hairdresser.

For over 25 years they lived in Bramcote bringing up 2 children before moving to West Bridgford to be nearer to ageing parents.

Jean joined several organisations locally including W.I., a local darts team and Lace Making Group and in 2008 Jean supported Barrie when he became Mayor of Rushcliffe.

During the COVID pandemic Jean’s health started to be affected, she stopped wanting to go out and shortly after her beloved Barrie’s death in 2024 she was diagnosed with Dementia and sadly died on 21st January 2026 on her 90th birthday.

You are greatly missed by your children, grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Rest in peace.
