Joy was my youngest cousin. Although we didn’t see much of each other I always found it easy to talk to her and you felt comfortable in her presence. Joy taught me how to play backgammon when she was quite young. I thought how clever she was - although I haven’t a clue how to play it now.

Joy was my dad Sam’s youngest cousin who was nearer to my age. I have fond memories as a kid of visiting her family, my great uncle Donald and aunty Phylis. I can remember she had a toy that lit up, what it was I can’t remember, but do remember being fascinated that a toy lit up. And then me and my brother Johnny visiting Great Aunty Nellie and Uncle Norman in Somerset one summer, and Joy’s family were also visiting, and we had a wonderful time going out with them.
She was a lovely soul. My condolences to everyone who loved and cared for Joy. Sorry we won’t be able to make it to the funeral.

In loving memory of Joy who lived up to her name. Working together we experienced ups and downs but she was always the positive spirit. She taught me that no matter how old you are there is always something new to learn. She will be remembered fondly, her kindness and generosity will not be forgotten.
