Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Mandy Winwood, who sadly passed away on 30th December 2025, peacefully at home with her three daughters by her side.
Mandy was truly one of a kind. Selfless, kind, and endlessly loving, she always put everyone else before herself and gave so much to those around her. She was the most amazing mum, a devoted and loving Nannie to her boys, and a loyal, caring friend to so many. Her warmth, strength, and generosity touched countless lives, and she will be remembered for the love she shared so freely.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported and loved Mandy, especially during the past few months. She meant the world to her family and friends and will remain in their hearts forever.
Mandy lived with a genetic lung disease, a form of pulmonary fibrosis, which has affected her family for many years and may continue to do so. In her memory, and with hope for the future, Mandy and her family chose to support Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, in the hope that ongoing research will one day lead to a cure for this devastating disease.

Dearest Mandy From the moment I first held you in my arms, when you were just a couple of hours old, you have held a very special place in my heart. Even as a little girl, there were signs of the loving, warm and caring person you were to become. When you were only about 5 years old and lived with your mum in the next road, you would often walk round to my home, knock at the door and ask if you could help me look after and play with my sons, 3 year old, Damian and baby, Martin. Needless to say, they loved having their older cousin to play with. Throughout your life you have had more than your fair share of troubles, and at such times we would often hold each others hands tightly and remind ourselves that we come from a line of strong women and with the help of our family and friends we would get through it. Then you would defiantly shout " BRING It ON' and we would smile and quickly find something to laugh at. You have shown such strength, courage and determination throughout the many difficulties you have had to face, whilst always managing to give love and support to those around you, to retain your sense of humour and fun and to nurture so many long and enduring friendships. A testiment to this is the wonderful messages that have been posted from many of those friends on your tribute page. I am so proud of you and what you have achieved; 3 beautiful, loving daughters, 27 years of service in the Met and then years of caring for others in care homes and the hospice and of course for dear Pete. I think you summed up our love and relationship in the message you sent me shortly before you died. Rest peacefully Mandy, you will always be in my heart and I will search for you among the 🦋 🦋
