Dad,
I’ve been trying to find the right words to say but they just won’t come! Then I realised I take after you more than I realise… my wedding day! Even a fag paper couldn’t save you from finding the words to say to a room full of people!! “Thank you for coming!”
Grumps is the most fitting name for you and a name our boys will never forget but underneath all that grumpiness was the kindest, caring, funniest dad, grandad and husband. You helped Charlie, the boys and I more than we could ever repay you for! The boys love and miss you so much and are missing your awful jokes already!!
Selfishly, I wish we had more time but I am happy
You are no longer hurting and the pain is gone, you endured more than you deserved and I am in awe in how you carried on despite it all. Your strength over Christmas to ensure we all got to spend it together is something I’ll never forget and I appreciate it so much. It’s a lovely last memory to have as a family, thank you. Im proud to be your daughter and even prouder to call you my dad!
The boys will continue to do you proud… especially with their rugby even though you don’t have a clue what the game is about! Cheer them on, give them strength and send nice weather for me please!!!
Love you always, try to behave up there with your brothers… I’m sure Nan will keep you in line!
Gone but never forgotten, love you dad always and forever Leah xxxxxxx
