In loving memory of Carole Ann Scarborough who passed away peacefully on 15th December 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion.
Born in Lewisham to Walter and Ellen Barwell, Carole was the eldest of four children. After waiting seven years for their first child, Walter and Ellen were overjoyed when Carole arrived at Christmas, earning her the fitting name of Carole, a true Christmas Carole.
Carole met her beloved Raymond, and they were married just ten months later, on 7th October 1972, a true love story. After a joyful holiday in Ibiza, they began their family, welcoming Sarah first, followed closely by Jamie, then Ben and Charlotte. Their beloved son Jamie passed away at the age of two and a half, a heartbreaking loss that devastated the family but ultimately drew them closer. Jamie continues to be a cherished and enduring presence in family life.
Carole worked as a punch card operator early in her career, and when she and Raymond started a family, she embraced motherhood wholeheartedly. She continued to work from home while caring for her children, a role she truly loved and cherished.
A loving wife to Raymond and a devoted mother to Sarah, Jamie, Ben, and Charlotte, Carole was known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family. She leaves behind nine devoted grandchildren, who cherished their nan dearly. She will be remembered for her strength, her love of life, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Mums favourite colour was emerald green to raise a smile on her face in heaven if you have something emerald green to wear to the funeral either a scarf tie earrings or something similar that would be lovely.
Carole will be deeply missed and forever loved by all her family and friends.
