To dad,

There are simply just not enough words to express what you mean to me. You were such a genuine, calm, kind, funny, hard working and intelligent man. You really were one of a kind.

We have so many funny stories of you and right now that’s giving me so much comfort. There are so many places and things that remind me of you and I’ll cherish those memories forever.

I will miss your voicemails, which you always left if I missed your call, and they which always started with “Hello Sarah, dad speaking” which always made me chuckle. I am so glad you left them because now when I feel sad, I can listen to them back and hear your voice.

Over the past few years, you have shown such strength, courage and resilience and I am so proud of you. You are an inspiration to us all, dad.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving us a great life and for always being there when I needed you. I was truly blessed to call you dad, Lydia was blessed to call you grandad and Michael couldn’t have asked for a better father in law. We miss you so very much.

I will hold your hand forever, dad.

Love you forever and always. Rest in peace ❤️

xxxx

Rest in peace Bill.

As Sarah’s childhood friend I’ve got a lot of memories of being at your house when I was young. You always made sure I felt welcome and part of your family.

I’ve also got fond memories of you marching to Tesco in your brown leather bomber jacket on the hunt for a bargain, something Sarah and I have laughed about over the years.

My first holiday abroad was with you, Jean, Sarah, Emma and William on a 24hr coach journey to Spain - it was honestly one of the best holidays I’ve been on. I’ll never forget you eating a raw onion like an apple and the shock on my face and I’m pretty sure you bought really stinky cheese at a stop in France on the way home and Sarah and I were thrilled at the smell for the rest of the journey!

After such a long and brave fight I hope you are at peace now. I know how much you meant to your family and friends and that they love and miss you more than words can say.

Sending love and strength to Jean, Sarah, Emma, William and family

Natalie and family xxx

Dad 💔

I still can’t believe I’m writing this, because I don’t want to believe it. Losing you doesn’t feel real.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and Evie. You are and always will be our rock and our everything. We love you from the bottom of our hearts, it hurts more than words can ever say.

I have so many amazing and funny memories of you, and I’ll hold onto them forever. You made life brighter just by being in it, and I’m so grateful I got to call you my dad.

You’ll always be my person, my everything, and our whole world. 🌍

I love you forever, Dad

Bill,

I’m devastated to be writing this so it might start a little shaky.

I am probably the luckiest man ever to have called you my father in law. Over the course of 14 years plus and even beyond that, you treated me like a son. A wise man who I have looked up to and will continue to. While I may not be able to see you or speak to you, you live on in my heart and I will use that for the rest of my life.

When I didn’t know how to do something, I wouldn’t Google it or watch a video, I’d call you.

We’ve had some big moments but two things stand out. The first was when I asked Sarah to marry me. You were so awkward at first and just kept smiling but I’ll never forget you saying “thank you for making my daughter happy” as I was leaving. The second was when you shook my hand when Lydia was born and told us what a beautiful name we’d chosen.

Driving to Peterborough when our car broke down is a prime example of the selfless man you were. I could go on and on but I can picture you saying “get to the point Michael”.

I’ll leave with this. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and us as a family. Thank you for being a part of our lives. I know you’re at peace now and you get to see your parents, your siblings and your friends.

Rest in peace. Your legacy will live on through us.

Michael

When you're 12, its pretty cool having an uncle that drives an oil tanker. Bill was a good man, lots to look up to. Thank you Bill for being a great role model.
