Uncle Carl..

Beneath the trees where quiet lingers,
Carl drew his last bow with steady fingers.
An archer’s eye, both sharp and true,
He met the world in green and blue.

Now he has passed beyond our sight,
His arrow loosed in final flight.
Though sorrow weighs, our love holds fast,
His memory in us will forever last

Thank you for the laughs and lessons.... I will never forget x. Susan

I like Steve above hadn’t seen Carl for years, life’s like that sometimes but I will never forget the days we spent growing up I first met Carl through his dad John and his love of fishing, I then met Carl at going’s the fishing tackle shop in Southend and hit it off straight away he was driving I think it was the Capri later followed by the Citroen and it’s air suspension most Sundays he would pick me up with Dave Albeno I think it was and we would go off fishing, I learnt so much he was mustard a natural angler I was proud to be his mate. Not only was it fishing but he developed my love of music as much as I hated his heavy rock I will always have a soft spot for Jimi Hendrix as the younger of the 3 of us I was always in the back with the speakers my ears have never been the same.. Like I said life separates you from people and things and we go separate ways, but we kind of kept in touch via Facebook which was nice. Not many things phase me and over the last 10 years I’ve been seriously ill myself, self inflicted some of it but I was shattered to hear about Carl one of life’s good guys
Please accept my condolences, I can’t make the funeral but I will have a quiet moment to remember Carl

Although I hadn't seen Carl for over 40 years, we were childhood friends. I met Carl when we both went to Greenways school, and he lived across the road in Greenways. We used to go fishing at Star Lane, go to the Kursall and kept a vivarium at the bottom of his garden. He was a good friend, and we had a lot of fun. I remember his mum taking us to Whipsnade Zoo and other events. I am sorry that I didn't have a chance to meet up again. I send my sincere condolences to his family at this sad time. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the funeral since I'm living in America.
