In Loving Memory of Barbara Wyton

Barbara, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on 11 August 2025. She will be remembered most for her kindness, warmth, and the gentle way she touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

She shared a special bond with her sister, and together they found joy and peace on mountain hikes, where they created cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of their family. Her love for the outdoors was matched only by the love she held for her family and the animals she cared for so deeply.

Nan’s greatest gift was the love she gave so freely. She was a source of comfort, laughter, and strength, always ready with open arms and a listening ear. To her family, she was a guiding light and a constant reminder of what it means to love unconditionally.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

I feel very privileged to have met Barbara 45 years ago at PPS, and we remained special friends ever since. I have many happy memories of our times together, days out in Derbyshire, the Bluebell Woods, Garden Centres etc.She was even with me the night I met my husband Bob.
Barbara loved her family, friends, animals and birds, such a lovely person
Thank you Barbara for being such a wonderful friend, I will always treasure our friendship

Barbara, you were my very first mother in law I had, albeit for 5 years or so. You welcomed me into your life and home with open arms and a loving embrace. I remember how very excited you were at becoming a grandparent for the very first time, you really were the best nanny to my little Stephanie and I know she thought the world of you, just as I did.

I have so many fond memories of you. You were such a proud and independent woman and kept your home and garden immaculate. It was such a beautiful loving home you had, for some reason I still remember the telephone number! I didn’t miss the vacuum going off at the crack of dawn though when me and Dave separated. But what I did miss was your smile, your laughter, your love and presence.

It was lovely catching up with you at Stephanie’s wedding, and as always you looked so glamorous with your frock and lipstick. It was so lovely having an opportunity to have such a lovely moment with you again. I know you were so proud seeing your little granddaughter becoming a wife.

You really were an incredible woman, you had the biggest heart. Thank you for always being there for my little girl and for being a wonderful mother in law to me.

You will be missed. Sleep tight xxx
