Nesta Magness (1 Feb 1928 - 25 Jul 2025)

In loving memory of Nesta Magness, a beloved partner and friend, who sadly passed away on 25th July 2025.

Nesta's funeral service will be held at Mansfield Crematorium in the Newstead Chapel on Monday 18th August 2025 at 11am.

Donations in lieu of flowers are welcome and will benefit the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Following the funeral, all are welcome for light refreshments at The Sherwood Inn, Kirklington Road, Rainworth, Mansfield NG21 0LA.

Nesta worked as a Design Draughtsman at Vickers, Weybridge until 1965. The only female in the design team, she worked on Radio Navigation for the Viscount, Vanguard and VC10 passenger aircraft and later on the management team for the TSR2, and was elected as Associate Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society. After leaving Vickers, she joined Thorn-EMI Electronics in a design role, later rising to become Principal Safety Officer for the group. After retirement, she spent time walking and climbing in Lakeland, Scotland and the French Alps. A very determined Lady, she lived life to the full, and will be sorely missed.
