Our lovely dear Rachel, words are not enough to describe the beautiful soul, that has left a huge hole in our hearts and she will be forever missed.
She was Kind hearted, caring, loving, sympathetic, considerate, independent, thoughtful and much much more. I’ve known our lovely (kids called her Aunty Rachel) Rachel for 19 years and they were the most beautiful times with her, I can still remember this like it was yesterday but it’s been several years now, I’m coming back from school run and she’s walking back from the corner shop with her wispa bars, which was her breakfast, we could talk forever and then our lovely Farzana would join us too. She was so much fun and she was so knowledgeable. She’d tell you off too like a mother, if something wasn’t right. One thing which she was too good at was being independent and she would never let you do anything for her, it used to drive me mad, can I get some shopping for you? “No thank you” or can I take you doctors “No thank you.” It was really hard to get her to agree.
But I was honoured when she was in hospital (the 2nd last time) I was honoured to go to Airedale Hospital and pick her up, she was already sat out on bench having some fresh air & sunshine, we had a little cry, I said you never let me do anything for you, it’s the first time ever you’ve let me do something for you, she said “right in that case I like your pilau rice that you cook with chicken or lamb not bothered which meat you use, and next time you make it, bring me some over” I said are you sure, she said “yes absolutely, “I replied I’m making some tomorrow, she said “perfect see you then.”
I came the next day with the food at her tea time and she was so happy. I was so grateful.
That is my best moment of Rachel ever.
I still sit at the dining table and look across at her house and there’s no Rachel there but her beautiful memories are with us now & forever in our hearts.💕
