Vera “Ve” Sproule
18 February 1956 – 21 May 2025
It is with deep sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Vera Sproule, Ve (Aunty Ve as many would call her) on 21 May 2025 at the age of 69.
Born on 18 February 1956, Vera was the beloved wife of Alan Sproule, and a devoted mother to Tanya Carter, her partner Stacy Wilson and Michelle Anderson. She was the proud and loving nan of Cody, Charly, Bayley and Fletcher Wilson, as well as Josh McHugh, Chloe Anderson, and Georgia Anderson. Vera was also a cherished sister to Lesley Mitchell and Elizabeth Willis.
Ve was known for her easygoing, loveable personality. She had the rare gift of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. She always put others before herself, with a heart so full of care it often overflowed. She was the kind of woman who told it like it was, she had a mouth on her and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Her honesty, humour, and fierce love were what made her so unforgettable.
When we remember Nan, we remember her in her full spirit, outgoing, full of life, and always up for a drink and a laugh with family and friends. She loved deeply and made each of us feel like her favourite and if you asked any of us, we’d say she truly was ours. That was her magic that you couldn’t replicate, she was truly one of a kind.
Vera’s funeral will take place on Friday 27th June at 2:15pm at Kingsdown Crematorium, with a wake to follow at The Village Inn pub, Shaw, West Swindon. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join us in celebrating the life of an extraordinary woman who gave us so much.
Forever loved, never forgotten. Our hearts are heavier without her, but we carry her with us always.
