Sarah Louise Henshaw (11 Aug 1975 - 17 May 2025)

In memory of Sarah Henshaw an amazing woman. She was an oasis of calm and normality in the frightening world of my treatment for myeloma. Sarah always had a smile, was full of life. told funny stories that made me laugh. She waa also so knowledgeable and efficient. If I had a problem she would always say"Jusr leave it with me and I will get back to you" amd ahe always did! A wonderful person. I will always remember her with love and gratitude.

You was my rock when i was my lowest u made me laugh I was scared any questions you answered your smile was contagious you really was a star an all the hematology team who you Introduced me too you was loved by many an will be sadly missed always in my thoughts today an always

So sad to hear Sarah had passed away. She was there for me when I was diagnosed and I will miss hearing her voice at the end of the phone. She will leave a huge hole in the excellent City's Myeloma department and my thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues.

Sarah was a brilliant professional who has given Heather first class support over a number of years. Our thoughts are with Sarah’s family.

Sarah was the first person we talked to after Dr Smith gave us the myeloma diagnosis.She was so compassionate and supportive, and positive. She had become more like a friend than a nurse over the past 9 years, and it was always lovely to hear her voice when I had my telephone appointment. She will be
missed so much.

Rest in peace Sarah - you will always be missed. A lovely lady and you were there for us with your kind and caring ways

Sarah was truly a star and worked so hard for all her patients. Always there for advice and a shoulder to cry on when needed. Sarah will be missed so much a lovely lady who will never be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers to Sarahs family.

It was a privilege to have known you.

This devastating news really touched me. When my wife was diagnosed and hospital became her home, Sarah’s approach, demeanour, incredible knowledge and enormous professionalism provided comfort, reassurance, honesty, empathy to me as well as my wife. I often talk about her to others 5 years on, she was a shining star and a true NHS hero, and sadly taken far too soon. Love and prayers to her family and I hope these words provide some comfort. RIP

It’s hard to put into words the impact Sarah has had on my life since my Myeloma journey started. She has been an amazing support, always there when needed and always got it just right. Her life was cut short too soon and she is a an immense loss to the world. X

I would like to personally thank you Sara for all the work & support she gave to Myeloma UK & all of the patient's at the Nottingham City Hospital Haematology department Sara was with me when I was diagnosed & was a constant support for so many! You will be missed very much RIP 🙏

Always professional but with that caring mentality which defines the best carers. She was involved in much that went under the radar to deal with the development of care and treatment. Will be sadly missed and it’s tragic to lose someone at the age of 49 who had so much to give to her family and the blood cancer community.

Watch you grow up Sarah with your brother Craig. Can remember all you kiddies playing together on Abbotts Croft and your mum becoming a dear friend. Sleep tight lovely lady 💔💔
