In loving memory of a mighty woman of God and devoted prayer warrior, she embodied strength, gentleness, and boundless love. As a mother, sister and grandmother, she nurtured her family with unwavering faith and love. Though she has departed this life, her legacy of character and devotion will continue to inspire and bless everyone who knew her.

"A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children." – Proverbs 13:22

On behalf of my siblings and all our family back home, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks again for the outpouring of love, kindness, and support you’ve shown us over the past weeks. Your words, presence, and prayers have brought real comfort during a profoundly difficult time.
As we prepare to say our goodbyes and celebrate the life of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and aunty — Annette Furo Wokoma — I would like to share the final details for the day:

Funeral Service & Burial – Tuesday, 3rd June
* 10:30am – Service at St John’s, Walworth Road, SE17
* 1:00pm – Burial at Camberwell New Cemetery, SE23 3RD
* 2:00pm – Reception “Remembering Annette Furo Wokoma” at Pasley Tenants Hall, 2 Marsland Close, Manor Place, SE17 3JW
(Please note the venue change)

In honour of our mum’s favourite colour, green, we kindly invite guests to incorporate a touch of green into their attire — whether it’s a tie, scarf, wrapper, or subtle accessory — as a warm tribute to her memory.
Thank you again for holding us in your thoughts. We truly look forward to seeing many of you there as we come together to honour and remember her.

With gratitude,

Emi, Joannah, Icks, Susan & Family

The husband, late Omubo Wokoma, was my schoolmate, neighbour and friend, back in Nigeria where we attended one of the oldest community secondary schools, Kalabari National College, Buguma, Rivers State. We were, therefore, delighted to see ourselves here in London; we were also lucky to be neighbours and our families were most cordial and supportive. Annette was a de-factor sister and a great mother. RIP.

I can’t believe I’m waking up today, my birthday, without your voice singing to me like you always did. It hurts more than words can say. But even through the pain, I praise God for this day, and for the strength you left behind in me.

Thank you for teaching me how to love, how to pray, and how to care for your grandchild…your “baby,” as you called her. You were more than a mother. You were an anchor, a warrior, a mighty woman of God whose love reached everyone around you.

Your absence has left a silence that echoes in every corner of our hearts, but I know you’re resting now, cradled in the arms of the Lord. I miss you more than words, but I’ll carry you with me always.

Until we meet again… thank you for everything, Mummy. I love you 💚🌸🌻💐💚

TO MY SWEET AND BIGGEST SISTER:

My sweet and biggest elder sister, you mean so much and to me as your younger sister. Without you the world didn't exist, you are my world whenever the thought of you come into my heart. I am feel with complete joy and peace in me. You always encourage and show me the right part to follow and remain positive in all situations no matter the challenges, you do not allow the flood, the sea and the fire to quench the love and zeal you have for God Almighty and your children. This is what I learnt from you, that is helping me today to be strong in the face of trials and temptations. I really missed you, when I had the sad story. I will continue to play the videos you in my memory. You are the sweetest, biggest sister in the world, I know you not dead but sleeping to rise on the resurrection morning like you always told me. Adieu Sweet Sister!!!
Big Sweet Sister, may your soul rest at the Bossom of the Lord in Jesus Mighty Name.

A TRIBUTE TO A RARE GEM
The family of Annette Furo Wokoma back home in Nigeria with a heavy heart of shock and tears find it difficult to express our feelings about the loss of our dear elder sistger, mother, grandmother, our " IROKO" tree that has fallen untimely. Words cannot tell the story from Genesis to Revelations but God understands how and why? We give God the glory and console ourselves with the scripture that says “Everything on earth has its time and season” (Ecclesiastics 3:1-3).
However, we are reassured that the life of a righteous gladdens the heart of the Almighty God and precious in his eyes is the death of his saints (Psalms 116:15).
A leader was born and a leader is gone so loving and protective to her children and her entire family and friends. We pray the Almighty God will help in all fallow, slippery and empty space caused by her untimely departure. We but will continue to abide by her wise counsels as we trust in God until we meet her above in her beautiful, peaceful and golden street house to part no more.
Sleep on daughter of Zion, you won the battle over death, because it cannot keep you in the grave Captive but you are now with the Almighty God your maker, decorator and your rewarder.
Adieu! Adieu!! Adieu!!! Big sis and mum.

My dear Anny Baby, if I want to write all that you mean to me, my writing will have no end.

Especially from 1973 until your departure,
you were my best friend and a sister.
I remember when you said that God had ordained us as sisters.
I cannot explain how wonderful you have been to me,
and how sweet it was to be loved by you.
I cannot get over the news of your departure.
I will always cherish the memories we shared.
We were indeed the best of friends.
I am only consoled by the hope that I will see you again
on the resurrection morning because you are resting
in the bosom of the Lord.

Sleep on, my dear Anny Baby.
Goodnight, my lovely Annet. I miss you.

Tribute to my Sweet Mom

With profound sadness, I penned this. Mummy, you became a huge part of me after my mom passed away. Our constant communication we had felt like we were physically close. You left a huge void in my life and I miss you so much, but I'm comforted that you are in a glorious place with Jesus.

Sleep on! Until we meet again, you will forever be in my heart.
Your grandson, Kelvin George

I am still struggling to come to terms with the fact that Annette is no longer with us and my husband Michael and I will no longer be able to do our occassional catch up visits to Annettes' house.

My heart goes out to Emi, Ickiabo, Susan, Joanna and the adorable grandchildren Ralph & baby Seven during this difficult time. I know your mum and grandma was everything to you, especially after losing your dad. Your mum loved you all very much. Uncle Mike and I are deeply sorry for your huge loss. We’ll continue to pray for strength and healing for your broken hearts and as you know we’re always here to support you, just ask.

Late Mrs Annette Wokoma was a truly virtuous woman. She was hardworking, strong, and full of wisdom. She was very committed to her family and in-laws, where she made significant contributions always. Annette was very generous and was always welcoming and a woman of faith in Jesus Christ.

Michael & I will always remember Annette’s beautiful big smiles, especially when she talked about her lovely children and grandchildren who she truly adored. She’ll be deeply missed.

To the children and grandchildren, may the amazing memories of your mum and grandma bring you comfort, joy and peace during this challenging time, and may the Lord comfort and heal your hearts and give you peace. We’ll always cherish the memories of your loving mum, she’ll be greatly missed.

Our beloved sister-in-law Annette, I know heaven celebrated your arrival to eternity where there is no more pain, sickness or suffering. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

1 Corinthians 15:55
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

This verse is part of Apostle Paul’s powerful message about the resurrection. It reminds believers that through Jesus Christ, death has been defeated and no longer holds power over those who are in Him.
