I am so sorry that I am unable to attend the funeral of my old and dear colleague and friend Audrey Sweeting.
Audrey worked with me between 1975 and 80 when I was setting up the old age psychiatry service at Airedale General Hospital
I have to say that she was the most delightful and charming medical companion with whom I have ever worked .She was both an exceptionally kind and caring doctor but also one of the most clinically astute and able medical practitioners,it has been my privilege to work with .Fortunately I was able to visit Audrey a few short weeks before she died, not having seen her for some 20 years .Though frail and slightly confused we immediately rekindled our old friendship and her sparkling wit humour and intelligence still shone through.
I consideed it a privilege to have worked with her and blessed by her loyalty supported and kindness to me
RIP Audrey youn were a wonderful doctor friend and human being

I am honored to be Audreys 1st cousin. During childhood our families would occasionally visit but, as life progressed, such pleasant contacts became increasingly rare.. An advantageous promotion for my father took us out to Africa, and my own desire to see more of the world split us even further. But, even so, I would very occasionally land in UK, already having in hand an invitation to spend several very comfortable days in that big stone house, enjoy home cooking and tours of the countryside. I believe her soul now rests very comfortably in Heaven with Mum and Dad and brother Rodney; our world is a better place for her being among us, and she will be remembered for her sharp mind, hospitality and engaging personality.
