Rob was a great friend for 40 years and is greatly missed. He will always be remembered for his dry wit and his kindness. Rob was a true gentleman - honourable and thoroughly decent.

Memorable days together at many events - always fun , great humour, laughter and hospitality at the Bells. Rob, you were a legend for your dry witty remarks and your appreciation of good dining ! We have missed you but remembered you so lovingly. Rest in Peace.
I will never forget the day Rob caught us smoking in the garden in Groombridge. We were hiding in the bushes. He was furious. And I was terrified of him. He thought I was a bad influence for Tish! However I think I finally proved him wrong after 50 years of friendship. Ps. I’ve never smoked 😆. Thanks Rob xxx
I only had the pleasure of meeting you once when we all had dinner together. I said to Tish at the time what a handsome man you were. And you had a mischievous glint in your eye, which I appreciated!! Rest in peace, heaven has gained an angel 🪽
