Another 80th birthday celebration
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Group Captain David Llewellyn Baugh OBE RAF (Retired) on Friday 18th of April, 2025 aged 81 years.
David's funeral will take place at Wilford Hill Crematorium, Nottingham at 2.00pm on Friday 16th May.
He was a Nottingham lad through and through, loving his life in West Bridgford and keeping in touch with an amazing group of local friends from his childhood days and beyond, despite living abroad for many years.
Dave, or Bog-H as he was known to many aircrew friends, had a distinguished career in the Royal Air Force. He was a fantastic maritime pilot, flying both Shackletons and Nimrods, well respected and admired by those around him. He was extremely proud of the OBE he was awarded for his contribution to the conflict in the South Atlantic and of all the fun stunts he was able to pull, both on and off the ground.
David’s family meant a lot to him and technology meant he was able to keep in regular touch with those he cared about most, from siblings at home and abroad to grandchildren and great grandchildren not so far away. We can’t tell you how much we will miss him and all that he brought to our lives throughout the years.
Dave was a larger than life character with a great sense of fun, always the life and soul of the party. His joie de vivre, intelligence and independence made him a special man that both friends and all his family will miss immeasurably.
Rest in peace, enjoy those blue skies.
