In loving memory of Brian Rodwell who sadly passed away on 11th April 2025 aged 88 years.

Our dad loved motorcycles. He started riding in 1952 on the very first version of the BSA Bantam D1. He went on to own three more BSA’s, a Greeves, and a Francis Barnet. He toured all over the place with his RAF buddies and had amazing stories to tell of breakdowns, and repairs they had to do by the roadside with a handful of tools and a stick of solder.

After being demobbed from the RAF, he worked at Cranes Ipswich for a while before becoming a local police officer, who was popular on his beat, and known for his fairness. He continued to ride motorcycles, mainly Honda machines right up until he retired. He introduced me (Bod/Paul) to his great love of motorcycles and taught me how to ride. He eventually had to give up two wheels in the 1990’s due to a sight issue but I took him for a long ride around Dartmoor on my Harley, as he loved my bike.

Dad served his Queen, country, and community for the best part of 60 years and was awarded for bravery and saving lives during his long years of service.

When he passed away on Friday 11th, we lost our Wingman.
This time, I will be HIS wingman
If any bikers wish to join me in escorting dad, you are very welcome. I will be leaving with the hearse from Henley House residential home 333 Henley Road Ipswich IP1 6TB at 11.00am and following dad up to Seven Hills to meet our family, where you will be welcome to attend his service.

Please can you check the attendance tab if you are attending the service?
Alternatively, it is being screened live via this link. https://watch.obitus.com username: mutu1846 password 686132
I think you can log on 5 minutes before

We have requested no flowers but donations to Guide Dogs UK instead, as dad and mum supported them for many years and were involved in their puppy fostering program before the dogs went for their training.

Thank you!
