Pat was the real matriarch of the large Guard family. She knew everyone and made a real effort to keep in touch and some how always remembered every ones Birthday !

So lovely to see so many people at the funeral today - a real tribute to the warmth of Pat's personality and breadth of her social circle. Pat was always great company, brimming with kindness and warmth and loved a good natter on the phone - even with my 96-year-old Mum (who has dementia) which has meant a lot to Mum this last year. My Dad, Ronald was full of admiration for Pat too, and often said so! We loved seeing all the photos of Pat today - a life well lived, not just in achievements but in her affection for her family and friends and the kindness she always shared. So very sorry to say Goodbye to you Pat, but you leave good memories and laughter and love and that is the very best way to go. All our love, Sophie, Rob, Irene, Ben, Jamie and Jasper

Getting to know Pat when I joined the Nottingham Playgoers was a delight, as we shared our love of Nottingham Playhouse since it first opened. Always elegantly dressed with a bright smile, Pat was an eloquent and creative reader of the play scripts. We shared our memories of her at our last meeting and agreed how we will miss her.

We have this lovely photo of Pat attending our daughter Ellie’s wedding. Pat was a lively participant in the dancing as usual! She can to stay with in France a couple of times and was always a lovely guest. We will miss her Isabel and Adrian Hudson
