In loving memory of Barbara Jean Dick who sadly passed away on 17th January 2025.
A life full of laughter and mischief, Barbara was born in Edgware in 1934 to George and Beatrice Norris. Barbara grew up in the Blitz and her memories of the war were surprisingly fond. The camaraderie of the air raid shelter and the excitement of doodlebugs were retold throughout her life; along with the singing of wartime songs.
Barbara married Bill in 1958 and they remained happily married until Bill’s death in 2021. Having been an only child, Barbara’s greatest passion (after Italy, animals, chocolate and music) was her family. Nothing was ever too much trouble when it came to her children (Karen Craig and Melissa ), daughter in law Tina and sons in law Michael and Paul, grandchildren (Zoe, Ollie, Josh, Sophie, Henry, Kitty and Elizabeth) and later great grandchildren (Molly, Chaz, Evie, Lucas, Polly and Zakari). Barbara leaves behind her adored dog Betsey, who brought her great happiness in her later years, sharing a kitkat or two together.

I hope more than anything that you are at peace,
free of pain and in the most beautiful place.

You deserve that and so much more.

I wish that I could hug you one more time...
or see you smile...or hear your laugh.

I want to thank you for everything you've ever
done for me, for every sacrifice you made,
for every bit of knowledge you left with me,
and for all of the unconditional love you
always gave without question.

I hope you knew how much you meant to me.
I hope you knew how grateful I was to have
had you in my life.

I hope you knew how safe you made me feel.

You were my comfort, you were my rock...

you were my home,

and I hope that you can somehow still feel my love.

from Karen the daughter of an angel X
