Funeral Director
In loving memory of Geraldine Mary Baker on 4th January 2025, aged 85 after a long, brave and dignified battle with dementia.
Geraldine was a devoted wife to Tony, amazing Mum to Anne and Elizabeth and doting Nana to Lucy and Holly. She was also a gifted and caring primary school teacher and a most loving, faithful friend to so many. She was endlessly loved and will be missed enormously.
Geraldine’s service of thanksgiving and burial will take place on Friday 24th January, 11am at St. Helen’s Church, Escrick. All are welcome to give thanks and celebrate her life during the service and afterwards at The Parsonage, Escrick. Please dress as you wish, in memory of Geraldine.
The family has asked for donations instead of flowers to be made to Dementia UK or Mary's Meals. Please find details of both charities below. Donations can be made through this page.

Mary's Meals provides life-changing nutritious meals to children living in some of the world's poorest communities, where hunger is a barrier to education. The promise of a good meal draws hungry children into the classroom, giving them the energy to learn and hope for a better future. This charity was especially chosen as it reflects Mum's passion for teaching, her outward-looking, nurturing nature, her abundant cookery skills and love of preparing good food to share.
