Troy Barratt (9 Aug 1979 - 28 Dec 2024)

In memory of Troy Barratt and to honor his wonderful mother.

With great sadness and a heavy heart, I mourn the untimely passing of our dearest friend, Troy.

I first met Troy during our time at IU in 1999, where we attended the same classes and worked together on group projects. Troy was a charismatic, sincere, intelligent, and visionary individual—truly one of a kind. I take immense pride in having been his friend, as people like Troy are rare in this world.

Even now, I struggle to accept that he is gone, but his memory will forever live on in our hearts. My deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones. May God bless them during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, my dear friend. Our conversations—both in Indiana and later in New York—taught me so much. To simply call him a "great person" would be an understatement. We love you, Troy, and you will always remain in our memories.

We are extremely sorry to hear that Troy has passed way at such a young age leaving behind Catherine and young children. I met him through our most popular member of Parliament, the honourable Gordon Henderson, at a business meeting and we found him to be an extremely friendly, charming and intelligent young man and we were unaware that he was suffering from a chronic illness.
