Though it is over 40 years since we were neighbours we have never lost touch. We have very fond memories of our years in Ravenshead and your friendship; the cricket club; the knock on the window at 9 o’clock on “cricket practice” night and the leasurely walk to the Sherwood Ranger! We will always remember you, a treasured friend. Rest in peace.

We never sang together but Ralph and I always enjoyed talking about our choral experiences. We also shared our love of music at the monthly U3A music appreciation meetings. Pleased to have spent happy times with a lovely man.

Families are great: partners, kids, and especially grandchildren. But what you really need in life is a best mate, and Ralph was mine. Trent Bridge will be much emptier this year.

It was an absolute honour to have Ralph as a customer and a friend for all the time we had strawberry fayre. We bunged the shop up for so long on a Saturday morning, with our lovely chats, setting the world right. And a christmas kiss all through the year. Rest in peace Ralph, with our love xxx

On behalf of Cersa East Midlands it has been a pleasure and a privilege to have had Ralph as a close friend and colleague for, in some instances, over 50 years. Ralph’s good nature offered us all wisdom, care and comfort which could not be bettered. He will be sorely missed.
