He was born in Upper Norwood and lived most of his life there. He obtained an MA at Oriel College, Oxford. Worked in his family Coal business and Camping Business. He was a member of All Saints Church, Upper Norwood and spent many decades helping people and working as a Samaritan.
He will be sadly missed by many people, both family members and friends.

My deepest condolences to you all for your loss. I have very fond memories of working in Crystal Palace Camping with Great Uncle Michael. I remember getting Kendal mint cake, round to its and eating Chinese on Saturdays. His gentle humor and lively conversations will be missed.

Micheal was a lovely, kind, funny man with high values of right and wrong which he past through his jeans contributed by Colette. He past this down to his children and grandchildren. I remember fondly at liz's wedding he being slightly worse for wear smoking a cigarette and getting all sentimental and being very funny.
Joan his younger sister also talked the other day about what great fun Peter and he had with the Balloonatics, they would make large tissue paper balloons and fuel them with charcoal in mince pie tuns and then chase them around London in a car.xxx
