I was just going through old emails and came across one from Carl. I clicked on his link to his website then discovered this sad news. I first worked with Carl at Sloane's Nightlcub in Wakefield in 1987, we became friends and he taught me all about a "microphone voice". The consummate professional. Even drove him to London and back to do his Radio Show on The Superstation! A lot of fond memories of Carl he was the Radio superstar that never was. Missed out on the Radio One Breakfast show to Simon Mayo. He was also a mentor to Chris Moyles, who at the time was working on Hospital Radio at Pinderfields in Wakefield. I will never forget a call with Carl after Chris landed his Radio One gig. Carl called him to wish him luck and Chris didn't take or return his call. That hurt Carl and I forever turn my nose up at Chris because if Carl let you in, he would do anything for you. I could write all day about him, such a loss and my thoughts go out to all the Kingstons, including Sue. RIP Carl

I will never forget the times we did together in Leeds, joining you while you did the show at radio aire, hookingbup with you at tramps in Worcester.
The walks round Copenhagen and the laughs we had when you sorted out me going there to dj for 1 night only.

Condolences to all the family.

Carl was a kind generous man who introduced me to earl grey tea and alovera.
RIP Carl, gone but never forgotten
