Tony George was my class mate and friend at CMS grammar school years ago. We hanged out a bit in those days. He was a really cool cat, friendly and this guy enjoys a good gist. He was a good footballer and a top swimmer. He was a nice guy & kind. He use to invite me to his house in Apapa to join with his local friends to play football. We use to hang out at places like Apapa club and Roxy Cinema with his other friends. He was very good company. Baba George, as I use to call him, Gone but not forgotten, may you rest in peace. Much Respect my friend!!!

The sad news of Tony’s sudden departure has come as such a terrible shock and I’m left asking why? Why so soon? And why, as I’m left reeling, barely a year after his younger brother Abi’s final farewell? My deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to his entire family, including his sister Morin and Mum. Another of our ‘Danfodio Boys’ gone way too soon. 😰May Tony’s soul rest in perfect peace alongside his nearest and dearest who preceded him through the ‘Pearly Gates’ and into Heaven. May God strengthen and comfort his family and loved ones at this difficult time, as they continue this journey of life on Earth without his physical presence.🙏🏽💐

In the vibrant streets of Apapa GRA, Lagos, a friendship blossomed that would withstand the tests of time. Anthony George, a friend with a smile that could light up the darkest of days, walked alongside me through the corridors of CMS Grammar School in Lagos, Nigeria. Our childhood was painted with the hues of laughter, mischief, and adventures that only true friends could share.

Anthony (El Capitan as I called him) was more than just a friend; he was a beacon of joy in my life. His infectious laughter and unwavering loyalty enriched every moment we spent together. From our carefree outings to the simple pleasures of our youth, Anthony's presence made every memory brighter and every experience more meaningful.

His smile, a masterpiece of warmth and genuine happiness, remains etched in my heart as a reminder of the beautiful soul he was. In his company, life felt lighter, troubles seemed smaller, and laughter echoed louder. Anthony's spirit was a gift to all who knew him, a reminder of the power of friendship and the beauty of shared moments.

As I reflect on the days we spent exploring the world through the eyes of two young dreamers, I am filled with gratitude for the privilege of having known Anthony George. Though he may no longer walk beside me, his memory will forever be a treasured part of my journey. Rest in peace, dear friend. Your smile will forever light up the corners of my heart.
