In celebration of the life of our beautiful, caring and loving Mum, Nan, big Nan, Sister, Aunty & Friend “Amy Rose Lawrence” Nee Miller.

Born in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire on the 3rd November 1938 to her Mother and Father Jubal and Maggie Miller, she was one of nine children.

Amy sadly passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday 22nd April 2024, her wishes were followed and her passing was exactly how she had wanted, with her family beside her.

Amy was a one off to say the least but always put her family first before anything. Amy & Dick held down multiple jobs during their life together and ensured we all had everything we needed for the best possible start in life. They did not just build an empire but a legacy.

Amy was married to Dick for a remarkable 67 years in which they had two children Lorraine and Mark. Mark sadly passed away in 2017. A great comfort to us is knowing that Mark now has his Mum and Ben has his Nanny up with them in heaven.

Lorraine gave Amy & Dick five Grandchildren and those Grandchildren gave Amy & Dick eight Great-Grandchildren.

Her eldest Grandson Michael and wife Nikki, their children Demi & Michael.
Followed sadly by her late Grandson Ben.
Grandson Perry and wife Laura, their children, Harry and Lacey.
Grandson Danny and wife Lizzie, their children, Danny and Matilda.
Granddaughter Brogan and her partner Oli, their children, Teddie and Vinnie.

Lorraine and her husband Paul cared for Amy alongside Dick. More recently as Amy’s illness progressed Paul’s son James’ wife Amber regularly visited helping Lorraine with Amys care.

To my beautiful Aunty Amy, your infectious laugh and the times I spent with you in my visits to England will be treasured always. Thank you for teaching me some of life’s lessons that I recall often and will cherish always. Firstly, it’s ok to say it as it is and stay true to yourself. Secondly, always keep your eyes to the ground when walking around as you don’t know what gold treasures you will find. Also, that it’s ok to take on the airlines when they spill oil all over your cases as long as you come out on top fully compensated. We certainly did :) I will miss you dearly but a place in my heart beside Mark you will always have. Love you! Uncle Dick and family my love and thoughts are with you at this sad time.xxx

It was a privilege to help care for amy. We had many laughs, battles, and chats singing in the shower. To many cups of tea and sofa picnics all I can say from one lady to another who knows.

God saw you were tired
When a cure was not to be
he wrapped his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to me, your loved ones are waiting so very patiently."
You didn't deserve what you went through. So he chose you for a rest.

God's garden must be beautiful he only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping so peaceful and free from all that pain, I know you're at peace now, and you are you again. May you rest in peace 😘
