I met Alex back in 2005 when we were working on the same team in Nottingham, we soon became friends and shared fun and laughter with the Team, we also shared the tragic passing of a colleague which cemented the friendship. Alex kindly offered me lodgings at his house to save me travelling back to Bedfordshire a few times a week - little did I know there was no hot water or heating !! However the offer was accepted gratefully at "Hotel Alex" The fun times we have had in the years since, crazy nights out in Nottingham, Greggs Sausage rolls at 4am, watching Nightmare before Christmas, painting Alex's House, camping, cycling - mostly me falling off, walking in the Peak District and endless games of Scrabble that I never managed to win.
Alex really was a true friend and I will treasure these memories for a lifetime. His bravery and positivity throughout his illness is a true reflection of him.
My thoughts and love to Lia and Alex's family at such a sad time.
Rest in Peace Alex (FB) you will be truly missed and never forgotten.
