  • Well, as Dad would say ‘you’ve gone blooming mad’. Thank you very much for your very generous donation. Without the research already done by BHF Dad may not have survived his first heart attack aged just 60. Let’s hope the money raised in Dads memory will bring about further advances in those experiencing cardiac issues.

Jane Ward donated £25 in memory of Ray

We will always remember Ray with such fondness, a gentle person with such great stories. He will be greatly missed in the Dene.

  • Thank you very much for your kind words Jane and your donation. Mum and Dad bought number 25 just before they married in 1967. Main drainage had just arrived, and the source of electricity was one light fitting. They were to do much work to the property before it was habitable. Dad regretted in future years that he’d ripped out the original range,They did talk of moving, but could never find anywhere they liked as much. I know the feeling,

  • Thank you very much for your kind donation. They shared so many special times with you particularly in the New Forest. Although I blame David for getting Dad a bit pickled and Mum having to straighten out all the pictures as Dad knocked each of them as he climbed up the stairs to bed..New Year at The String of Horses I believe! Or putting bubble bath in the bath with a jacuzzi button and watching the foam cover the bathroom floor.. Happy Days. Thank you.

A privilege to have known Ray, such a cheerful, kind neighbour in The Dene.

  • Thank you both very much for your kind words and donation. Following Mums passing Dad would often walk up the Dene for a bit of exercise, sometimes he would be gone for ages as people stopped to talk to him. We were so lucky to have such wonderful neighbours.

  • Thank you very much for your kind words and donation. Dad being a bit, or a lot if I’m honest, old fashioned, he was always in awe of you doing your own DIY. It seemed there was nothing you wouldn’t turn your hand to, he was so very impressed, and respected you an awful lot for it..girl power!

  • Thank you very much for your donation, it was very kind of you. We appreciated very much you attending Dads funeral, you haven’t changed at all..well maybe a little bit! It was really lovely to see you and have a bit of a catch up. I recall babysitting your ‘boys’, it doesn’t seem that long ago, I was surprised to learn they are in their 40’s! I don’t know where those years have gone. Take care and look after yourselves.
