In loving memory of Michael Douglas Haines who sadly passed away peacefully on the 12th March 2024 after 16 weeks in hospital following a Triple Heart Bypass.
He was very much loved by everyone and his greatest pleasure was having all of his family together. He was the kindest and sweetest person who would lend a hand to whoever needed it and will be sorely missed by us all.

As a young teenager and an old Holcombeian in the early 80’s, it was Mike who convinced me and several others to come and join R&G Hockey Club. It was a great club & at the heart of it was Mike. A true gentleman, with time for everyone! How funny that some years later we’d end up merging with our local rivals Old Holcs and become one big hockey family and of course it was Mike who instrumental in this as well. RIP Mike. Sorry I can't be there to see you off Mike. Having first met you when I started playing hockey over 40 years ago, I have to say I have always valued many years of your advice, fun and laughter along with countless beers! I and my family thank you so much for everything. We will raise a glass to you on the 11th. RIP.
