The family of Ian are saddened to announce the passing of Ian on the 17th February 2024 at Currergate Nursing Home, Steeton following a protracted illness.
Ian aged 84, husband to Jan, brother to Margaret, father to Stuart and Kirsty, father-in-law to Zephine and grandfather to Lucy, Kate, Elizabeth and Molly (the dog and often referred to as “ a rum ‘ en”), formerly of The Old Bobbin Mill, Newsholme, Oakworth.
Ian had a distinguished and long career in the NHS culminating in him being District Treasurer for Bradford Health Authority for over 19 years before his retirement in 1993. Ian was also a Keighley Magistrate from 1986 to 2010. In addition, Ian was a Trustee of Black Dyke Band until his death, serving for over 30 years.
There will be a Celebration of Ian’s Life at Oakworth Crematorium on Monday the 11th March 2024 commencing at 11:00am. All are welcome.
Family flowers only but donations in memory will be for the benefit of Sue Ryder, Manorlands, Oxenhope. A collection box will also be available at the Crematorium.
