If Tears Could Build A Stairway
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why

Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store

Since you'll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you'll always stay

You never said I'm leaving
You never said goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why.

A million times I needed you
A million times I cried,
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still,
In my heart I hold a place
That only you can fill.

It broke my heart to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
As part of me went with you
The day God took you home.

My heart has been left broken since the day you had to go
And the memories I treasure dearly are in the tears that still flow

Your in my thoughts everyday and thats how it will always be
For you may be up in heaven now
But you'll always be with me

If only I could have the chance to see your face once more
Or to hear your voice one final time
Just like it was before

The day that heaven calls for me
Will be a relief from all this pain
I'll run to you with open arms
And we will meet again.

Alone in my darkness I still see your face,
sometimes your presence and your warm embrace.
I look 'round the house; it's calling your name,
but nothing I see here quite feels the same.
I then feel a shiver run right down my spine.
I hear you say, my love, everything is fine."

"I'm here watching over you; I'm right by your side.
The rough and the smooth I will gently guide,"
so I close my eyes and I see you smile,
and I can see you for a while,
and I know one day that we will be
together forever, when both our journey's will be complete.

Goodnight, dear one, the day has passed.
No ray of light is meant to last.
Our time is short, as verse to song.
Goodnight, dear one, you've been so strong.

Goodnight, dear one, eyes closed in peace,
let pain and struggle, at last, cease.
The battle that you fought is done
Goodnight, dear one, at last, you've won.

Goodnight, dear one, you've earned a rest,
for all the lives you've touched and blessed.
While in our thoughts, you're never gone;
goodnight, dear one, we'll carry on.

Goodnight, dear one, but not goodbye,
within our hearts you'll never die.
As precious as our time has been,
goodnight, dear one. We'll meet again.
