Peter Ralph Sparkes of Burtle passed away peacefully on 30th January 2024 aged 85. Dear and loving Husband, devoted Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He will be sadly and greatly missed by all his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at St. Edward’s Church, Chilton Polden on Monday 26th February 2024 at 12noon followed by interment. Family flowers only please. My 2 fond memories of Uncle Peter are the holiday we went to Wales (in the middle of nowhere), and he brought along a giant box of crips for us all to share, and when my parents took my Brother and I to visit them out Burtle, we were allowed to play a game of pool or snooker (a real treat for my brother and I). My Dad would be in the workshop with Uncle Peter, talking cars and Bikes, most likely the next purchase !! and Aunty Ruth would be chatting to Mum whilst making the tea and a delicious fruit loaf/cake.
