In loving memory of Peter Smith who sadly passed away on 8th January 2024 a month before his 86th birthday. Pete was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by his close and loving family: his wife Stella, his children Sue and Dave, and by his six grandchildren Amy, Josh, Alex, Chloe, Sam and Matt, and indeed all family and friends who have wonderful memories of him.

For the last sixteen years, following his diagnosis of end stage kidney failure which he faced in his usual stalwart manner, Pete and Stella trained for three months in order for him to receive his dialysis as a home patient under the Renal Team of St Helier Hospital in Carshalton, Surrey.

Pete always considered it a privilege to be able to do his dialysis in the relaxed surroundings of his own home and remained forever grateful for the care and support he received from their Home Dialysis Team of Nurses, Consultants and Technicians. Home dialysis enabled Pete to continue with an exceptional quality of life, and for many years he was the oldest home patient under their care.

Thus his family has chosen The St Helier and Surrey KPA (Kidney Patients Association) for donations in his Memory.

Pete was a quiet but learned man. Enjoyed visits with him and Stella when I flew from Canada and they opened their home to me. May he rest in peace

Pete was a Great Pal (of seventy nine years) when growing up in Old Coulsdon. He was two years ahead of me at Keston Ave Primary and Caterhan Hill Senior School and one yrar ahead of Frankie at Caterham. Great memories of those childhood days. We'll be watching the Serivce here in New Zealand and thinking of Stella and her Family and Friends at this very sad time.
