Peter Luckhurst (1 Dec 1954 - 15 Jan 2024)

It was a privilege and an honour to have served with Pete in 76 Maude's Battery RA a great guy

I knew Pete from our days with 24 Missile Regiment RA and on disbandment of the Regiment in 1977 I moved over to 76 (Maudes) Battery (Petes Battery). We were both attached to C Sub where Pete was the Maestro at sorting out the meals for the whole Gun Detachment. We used to go on various Arduous Marches together with either a Battery or Regimental team. Even when we were in pain and hobbling along Pete would be there rallying the Team with his singing of dubious marching songs. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve along such a well respected guy - both in and out of uniform. RIP Pete my Brother and save me a space at the table when we meet once again at the Battery Bar in the sky. Ubique, my friend

I would contribute the following to his obituary. Pete as he was known to his peers was highly regarded as a safe pair of hands. He had a casual demeanor which belied a thoughtful and analytical approach to his duties. Ever ready with a houmous quip appropriate to the situation Peter was a great man to have around. I had the pleasure of working with him on a particular project we were assigned. He was very quick to pick up and get positively involved adding value to the outcome in spades
Peter was smart! In a considerable way, he was always well tuned out both physically and mentally. A joy to work with indeed! Alastair Forsyth February 2024

R.I.P. Pete we had some good laughs together. It was good to serve with you.

It's been a pleasure to have known you. We have had some fantastic and funny times together, on Nymegen marches or in N.I.You helped me on the guns, and was always there to give advice, nothing was to much trouble. R.I.P friend.

Pete, you were one of my closest friends for more than 47 years. I will miss your smile, your laugh and your stories, but most of all, I’ll miss you lovely man xxx

Pete was a lovely man.. always had a smile on his face. He would do anything for you..
