Peter. It's difficult to know where to start. First and foremost you were a gentle man and a gentleman. You were always polite and always interested. Whenever I saw you, you were interested in what we were doing and where we had been. You called us adventurous and you always wanted to know more. You always had a way of making people feel important in your life and always expressed your gratitude, for everything big and small.
But actually you were the inspiration. You loved to be involved in your community and with your family. You loved going out on your bike and to Enid's horror, you never let anything get in your way. You were loved by everybody and I never heard you say an unkind word about anybody.
Yes. I know you felt you had a good life and your legacy is very special. You are the classic representation of the phrase "you reap what you sow". You have scattered kind thoughts and good deeds and left only happy memories, tinged with a sadness that you are no longer with us.
We feel blessed to have known you, and to have enjoyed your company and your encouragement.

We shall always remember Peter as being an interested and interesting person who had a very positive and happy attitude towards life. He was practical in his decision making, it seemed to us, and showed us wonderful examples of a life well lived, expecially in older age.
I shall always reflect on this when
cycling around Ravenshead on Etienne, Peter's bicycle.
