Only found out on Monday 12 th February that Julia had passed away. My mum met Julia when she was expecting me and Julia was expecting Guy. Our families grew up together. I would have attended the funeral if I had been told. Kari x

So sorry for your family, sincere condolences to everyone. I first met Julia in 1952 maybe a year later at PRS. Such a talented, elegant girl and lady when we met up next on a train to go to the Isla of Wight. Still a beautiful girl. Iam lucky to have some paintings, Julia had an amazing collection. They are today and have been since I got them, hanging in my hall and lounge. I suppose when we reach our 80,s we have had a good innings. Much love. Always, Anita

I first met Julia in June 1982 when she joined Jaycee Furniture where I also worked. We became firm friends almost from the go, and I am so grateful to have had her in my life.
Having moved to the UK from Finland, and with Julia having lived in many foreign places herself, she understood perfectly how lonely I sometimes felt and gave me so much support which was so important to a 20 year old.
She and John very quickly became part of my family and we have so many treasured memories of socialising with them both over the years. Through good times and bad, they have always been there.
I have spent most of my adult life looking up to Julia, admiring her so many talents; painter, fluent speaker of French, German & Italian, pianist, gourmet chef, lover of the arts, her interior and garden design prowesses not to mention her amazing general knowledge; the list just goes on and on.
I am going to miss my English 'mum' so very, very much but rejoice that we have ten of her paintings hanging on our walls (our home is affectionately knowns as 'Gallery Julia') and our sons, Seb and Lucas, have several of her paintings too, so her memory and talent will live on.
Rest in peace, dearest Julia.
Tanti baci, Nina xx

We met Julia when she joined our Italian U3A group. She was a kind, generous, enthusiastic and talented lady. I am pleased to have known her, albeit for only a short time. I shall treasure lovely memories and will miss her.

It was a pleasure to know Julia. She joined the Pembury U3A Italian group at a time when we mostly met outside or on zoom. She always brought brightness and cheer to the group and sharing her interesting life with us lifted these gloomy days. Fond memories. We miss you Julia.

It was with great sadness that I read of Julia's death. When she joined our Italian group, she became an inspiration with her obvious enthusiasm and knowledge of the language, and we have missed her presence during the last few months. Sending sympathy to all the family at such a sad time.
